2020 Updates!
May 16, 2020 2:40 pm Leave your thoughtsWelcome Back
Welcome to our first blog post! Hope everyone’s been keeping well – we’ve been SUPER busy here on the farm with this extra time. All of the staff and animals miss our lovely visitors and can’t wait to see you all again. We thought we’d share a few updates on what we’ve been up to these past few weeks.
Easter Egg Hunt
Our Easter Egg hunt was still a hit this year. The Easter Bunny visited and our residents were loving the lack of competition! Fewer people = more eggs for Baby Liam.
However, our resident accountant can’t understand why sales aren’t matching last year’s numbers..!
New Fawn
A big welcome to our new baby fawn Oisín and Aoife.
While they usually drink water from the trough, some residents like to give them a hand! Not sure how hygienic that is though..!
Social Distancing Sheep
We’ve been teaching our sheep the importance of social distancing. As you can see, they’re doing very well. 2 metres apart at all time, lads!
Ostrich Eggs
Our Ostriches are also doing great at sticking to socialising in their own family unit and laying away. Did you know one of their huge eggs contains 22 hen eggs?
Smoker
Our managing director Gareth has converted an old oil rig into a smoker. We’ve been eating some yummy smoked pork belly as a result – even if it does take 14 hours to cook. We briefly considered selling smoked meat to our campers, though we’re not sure if anyone would be willing to wait that long for their dinner!
So that’s a brief look into life at Nore Valley at the minute. We’ll be back next week to bring you some more news on your favourite farm. Until then, stay safe and we’ll see you soon!
